In 1984 while on vacation in Germany I was lucky enough to meet up with a group of people involved with the US Army's Organizational Effectiveness program.  This group was made up of members of the various armed forces, Army, Navy and Air Force, with a smattering of civilians.  They introduced me to the concept of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP.

As they told it, the Army was exploring the possibility of using NLP techniques to cut through the "bullshit" associated with the military's decision making process and well, make their organizations more effective.  They told me stories and demonstrated the effectiveness of these techniques...mirroring and matching, pacing and leading, anchoring, etc.  Since we were in a bar, and I was in my early twenties they demonstrated the various techniques by showing me how they could be effective in meeting women.  Needless to say I was hooked.

That seemingly innocent meeting in a bar started me on what has turned out to be a multi-decade quest to learn more about persuasion and influence techniques.  In this quest I have read a great number of books, listened to a lot of CD and Tape programs and attended literally scores of classes.  I even spend some time working for Anthony Robbins as a sales consultant.

When learning a subject, the most important thing to me was relevant content.  There is a lot of material and programs out there that are long on emotion and feelings, but short on content.  You might attend a 3 or 4 day event with very little substance but a lot of activity.  In order to learn more you have to invest more money and more time.  Often times there is good material being taught and the teacher is quite skilled in its use, but the content is rationed and doled out in marketable chunks.  I never liked that.  I prefer my training to "Over deliver".  You know, have so much great content that you have to listen over and over in order to absorb it all.

What I have here is a collection of products and resources that over-deliver.  The amount of material in these products give you an incredible amount of value for the investment.  I have used (and continue to use) all these products and if you really want to accelerate your knowledge of human behavior, influence and persuasion you'll pick these up too.
